Keeping Yourself Safe
Keeping young people safe against radicalisation and extremism
You can find information here about why a young person might be drawn towards extremist ideas, how this might happen via the Internet and other sources of media, through interaction with peers, the TV and how parents can support their young people to stay safe.
You can also see what we are doing with the young people in school to raise their awareness of extremism and radicalisation.
All staff have also received training about this issue and know how to pass on any concerns they have about a young person.
If you have any concerns that your child is being influenced by others in any way, please get in touch with the school and our Safeguarding Team will discuss your concerns with you. Alternatively, you can contact Children’s Advice and Duty Service(CADS) on 0344 0800 8021 to report any concern about the safety or well-being of a young person. In an emergency, you should call 999.

E-Safety
A big part of safeguarding is to make sure that our students know how to keep themselves and others safe. We do lots of work with students through assemblies, SMSC and cross-curricular themes to raise their awareness of the need and also develop their ability to be safe. Anti-bullying and online safety are just two areas that we have addressed with students this year.
We know that parents want to be actively involved in knowing how to keep their sons and daughters safe and that’s why we have put lots of links below to give you access to information and resources that you may find useful.
