Fakenham Academy held their annual summer concert on 3rd July and what an evening it was! 40 students took part in the show playing either solo or group pieces. Some of the solos came from Sofia (piano), Sam (piano), Ruby (flute), Kara (piano), Phoebe (clarinet), Lacey (violin) and Ava (guitar) – students from a range of years who play a range of instruments. Group pieces were performed by our newly formed Brass and Violin groups – both of which contain students who began learning their instruments as part of their in-class music lessons and have decided to continue this by having individual lessons. There was also an amazing performance of ‘Sweet Child O Mine’ from Guitar Band.

Other pieces included Choir singing ‘Love Story’ and ‘Dance the Night Away’ and two excellent performances from our Woodwind Quartet. Concert Band played some well-known film pieces such as ‘Mission Impossible’ and ‘Wallace and Gromit’ and were also lucky enough to play a version of ‘Treat People with Kindness’ by Harry Styles which was excellently arranged by our own Year 11 student Rosie. Overall, it was brilliant. We are already looking forward to the Christmas Concert! Incredible evening with some really standout performances. Well done to all those who took part. Keep practicing over the summer as we are already looking forward to the Christmas Concert!
