Student Leadership

2020 / 2021

Head Boy – Toby Pollicott-Reid

I was born in Norwich in October 2004. I have lived in villages in Norfolk throughout my life. I have a sister Lizzie, who attended Stibbard C of E Primary School just like myself and also did her GCSEs at Fakenham Academy.

My mum is a mental health nurse and my dad works as a builder. My favourite subjects at school Geography, History and Sport. I enjoy cooking and baking at home. I am also a big sports fan, especially football, supporting Liverpool, but also attending Norwich matches at Carrow Road every season.

I also enjoy playing football and tennis and swimming on camping holidays in France. I have a black and tan dachshund called Colin, who is twelve years old.

Head Girl – Ella Warnes

Hello. My name is Ella Warnes and I have been a student at Fakenham Academy since Year 7. I live on a farm with my Dad, Mum, brother and miniature dachshund Wilson. I have had a varied school experience, for example I have been a member of the Fakenham Academy Badminton Team for 4 years and played the clarinet in a mixture of different school bands. My other hobbies beyond school include being a member of the Countrysiders, a Ranger and working as a waitress at Sculthorpe Mill.

I am so excited to be this year’s Head Girl because I want to help with the transition back to school after the pandemic. I would like to create new systems that make it easier for the students who are struggling to catch up with work or settle in. The amount of opportunities I had in my years at Fakenham academy were exceptional and I would like to make sure students have the same chances I had and even more. I would like to make our school more involved with the community and through this, provide more opportunities.

I am always delighted to hear new ideas and thoughts so feel free to chat with me. I don’t bite!

Deputy Head Boy – Robert Bond

My name is Robert Bond, I have lived in Norfolk my entire life, I attended Sculthorpe C Of E Primary School and I have been at Fakenham Academy since year 7.

My favourite subjects at school are sport, drama and history. Outside of school I am a blackbelt in TaeKwonDo and play rugby for Holt RFC. My favourite part of highschool is the many sporting opportunities you are given, during my time at Fakenham I have represented the schools Rugby, Football, cricket, volleyball, cross country and the athletics team.  I have also taken part in the school’s production of High School Musical On Stage and have been a member of the school band since year seven.

To all new students I say make the most of the opportunities you are given at Fakenham Academy as you’re only going to experience it once!

Deputy Head Girl – Ella Murdoch

My name is Ella Murdoch, and I’m very excited to be this years deputy head girl.  I live in a small village with my mum and kitten. My dad’s family are from Jamaica and I think this means that I’ve had an interesting upbringing with the mix of multiple different cultures. My diverse background is one of my favourite things about myself, and I believe that everyone should get the opportunity to learn about different cultures. One of my ambitions for my year as deputy head girl is to help educate my peers on black history and culture, mental health and LGBTQ history and culture.

I recognise that working hard academically will help me in the future, as I really want to go to university. My mum was the first in the family to go to university, and I aspire to do the same.  Whilst I work hard at school work I also have lots of other hobbies including playing oboe and being a member of multiple school bands.

Outside of school I dance with ‘1st Academy of Dance’ where I do various classes,  as well as helping younger students with their lessons which I really enjoy. I do lots of exercise as I really enjoy keeping fit. I also have a job at Holkham Hall in the café which has helped me to be more confident with new people as well as giving me a taste of earning my own money.

I’m looking forward to starting my deputy head girl duties, feel free to say hello if you see me around school!
