Re: Start of Autumn term, and advance LFT testing for students
We are looking forward to welcoming all of our students back to school again in the coming weeks. We are still planning on having a staggered start of term in line with government guidance:
Monday 6th September – Years 7,12
Tuesday 7th September – Years 8,9,10,11,13
Year 7 students should report to the Canteen on arrival to school where they will be notified of their form group.
Year 12 students should report to the Fakenham Sixth Form reception
Students in all other years should report to their form room, if they have accessed their timetable online in advance – or to reception if they are unsure.
Government guidance requests that students undertake two LFT tests at the start of this term, before switching to routine home testing. The first of these tests can be taken in advance of students returning to school.
We will be offering the possibility for students to be tested on Wednesday 1st September, Thursday 2nd September, Friday 3rd September in addition to Monday 6th September. This will enable students to return to lessons as quickly as possible.
The second of the LFT tests for students will be conducted in the first week of school when all students have returned. At home LFT test kits will be provided from Friday 10th September for all students.
If you have given consent for your son/daughter to be tested in the previous academic year, there is no need to provide us with updated consent, however for all new students, including those in Years 7 and 12, a consent form will need to be completed via the link below:
In order to test students as quickly as possible, and ensure we can process the tests safely within guidance, we ask that parents/carers use the form below to book a test slot for their son/daughter.
Please can students in Years 7 and 12 book before Monday 6th September, and students in all other years book before Tuesday 7th September.
Student LFT testing booking form:
A test should take no more than 25 minutes to complete, parents/carers will be permitted to wait in the car park during this time if needed, students should report to main reception at their time slot, where they will be signed in and testing will be completed in the Gym.
